This editorial concept is derived from my personal affinity toward the outdoors and outdoor recreation. VagueRant Magazine is specifically catered toward an alternative and primarily young demographic of adventure seekers within the North American outdoor community. The magazine was meant to be distinguishable from other editorials within this genre, many of which hearken to an aesthetic on par with National Geographic. As such, I incorporated some alternative and slightly retrograde motifs including a handful of unorthodox fonts, duotone images both taken and edited by myself, and vibrant color palettes chosen to invoke a somewhat whimsical and psychedelic disposition throughout the magazine.
